Privacy policy
Kigali City Tours is run by New Dawn Associates LTD (“we”, “us”), Kigali, Rwanda. This page explains what personal data we collect when you use kigalicitytours.com and book with us, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 5 November 2026.
What we collect
- Booking details: your name, email, phone number, nationality, pick-up and drop-off point, tour, date, number of guests and anything you tell us in the booking form.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We see the amount, the status and the last four digits of your card, never your full card number.
- Messages: what you send us through the contact form, email or WhatsApp.
- Unfinished bookings: if you enter your contact details and don't finish booking, we keep that draft so we can send up to two reminder emails.
- Browsing data: pages viewed, device and browser type, and how you reached the site, collected through Google tags and cookies (see below).
How we use it
- To confirm, run and support your tour: guides, pick-up, park permits and messages on the day.
- To take payments, refunds and balances due.
- To send booking emails and, for unfinished bookings, up to two reminder emails, each with a one-click unsubscribe link.
- To understand how the site is used and whether our advertising works.
Who we share it with
Only the people and services needed to deliver your booking:
- Stripe for payments.
- Bokun, our booking system for shared departures such as the Akagera Group Safari, and the partner operators who run those departures.
- Your guide and driver, and park authorities where a permit needs your name and nationality.
- Google: Firebase (hosting and our booking database), Google Workspace (email and our booking calendar), Google Analytics and Google Ads.
We never sell your data.
Google Ads and measurement
When you complete a paid booking, the confirmation page tells Google Ads that a booking happened, with its value and our booking reference. To measure this accurately, we also share your email address and phone number with Google Ads in hashed form: scrambled one-way (SHA-256) before they are sent. Google uses the hashed data only to match the booking to an ad click it already knows about, and for measurement, under its customer data policies. We don't use it to target you with ads.
Cookies and local storage
We use Google tags (cookies) to measure visits and ad performance. Your browser's own storage keeps your booking in progress, the “Continue your booking” card, and a note that a booking has already been counted so it isn't counted twice. You can clear these at any time in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records: as long as Rwandan accounting and tax law requires. Unfinished booking drafts: until the tour date passes, or sooner if you unsubscribe or remove them. Messages: as long as needed to answer you.
Your rights
Under Rwanda's Law No. 058/2021 on the protection of personal data and privacy, and similar laws where you live, you can ask us to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for reminders or measurement. Email join@kigalicitytours.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If some booking records must be kept for legal reasons, we'll tell you.
Where your data is stored
Our service providers (Google, Stripe, Bokun) store data on servers outside Rwanda, including in the United States and the European Union, under their own security and data-protection commitments.
